Britta's Letters from her life divided between city-life in German's capital Berlin and life in a Bavarian village

A Snippet of my Everyday Life

The day before yesterday the bell of my Bavarian flat rung - I pressed the button - nobody came up - so I went downstairs and saw the stoplights of a white van.

A deliveryman had dumped a heavy parcel in front of the house - ah! the potting soil I had ordered. I just had my influenza virus vaccination - thus I abstained from carrying that parcel up to the second floor (I happily do weight training again since two months and think I might have been able to carry those 45 litre - but then: my back is a bit touchy - thus I let the parcel where it was).

Next day the parcel stood in the hall - yesterday I asked the young forest ranger from the flat downstairs whether he had put it inside - no, but could he carry it up for me? "Oh, wonderful!" (I had corrected the Master thesis of his girlfriend, thus now I know a lot now about "The Economic Value of Wood from Little Private Woods") and thought I could accept his offer.

The forest ranger is the only person the triplets REALLY respect. He drives a huge pick-up, AND a "John Deere" (the girls, though just three years old, can tell you most car make that passes by, and all tractor makes - a valuable foundation for life :-)

Now I need a fine day to plant the rose Avalanche into a huge container.

Query: If I tell you about such an everyday event - is that ok - or do you start to yawn? I would know about that!

    1. Thank you, Emma - as I have the feeling to have two lives (city and pastorale) I think I will find enough themes.

  3. Everyday life always goes down well on blogs. I can't think why my everyday life is of any interest to anyone but it seems to be.

    1. I love your blog, and I find it very interesting, Rachel - you have so many interests and do such a lot, so much to write about.

  4. We need to know about the kindness of the Forest Ranger and his girlfriend, and especially that little girls can distinguish cars and heavy vehicles. Don't hold out on us.

    1. I think that I will have a lot to tell in the next years! :-)
PS: One of the triplets knows already - and identifies it when it is passing us - which car she wants: a specific white Mercedes cabriolet.

  5. The rose is beautiful. Roses planted in rich soil and placed where you can see it daily will give you much pleasure. Your little girls have a fascination for cars. Just wait until they can drive, they'll know exactly which car will meet their needs.

  6. The rose is fine, Susan, though my absolute favourite is the David Austin rose "Gertrude Jekyll" - I have her on both balconies, and here in Bavaria it flowered three times - very bright pink blossoms, and a very intensiv fragrant. So lovely!
When the triplets can drive we will have many hours where we hope that they come back safe. A priest once told my sister, who worried anxiously about her driving sons: "You can only light a candle. More you can't do, so go to bed without worry."

  7. I would have taken the empty pots on the ground floor, and filled them up with soil, plants and water. You have to trust your neighbours not to nick your pots and plants of course, but at least one of your neighbours sounds like a darling.

    1. Dear Helen, of course dividing the earth on several pots would have been the most rational and cleverest idea - but soil ist dirty, and people here in this part of Germany are remarkably orderly., so the entrance of the house is not the best place to potter.
And for the roses I need a huge pot with at least 25 litres - too much for an arm with an influence shot...
Here in the Bavarian village I do not for one minute think that I should be cautious and take the earth inside. The house with my flat lies on the highest point of the village, which has only 500 inhabitants and strangers come here very, very seldom. The possibility that I might have got a bad back was much higher than a person who would nicke a huge parcel with earth!

  8. Thank you for this wonderful post, I want to use this opportunity to share about My life how I strunggled with Hiv/Aids Disease before the Lord Jesus in my life as a candle light in the darkness. You showed me the meaning of faith with your words. I know that even when I cried all day thinking about how to recover, you were not sleeping, you were dear to me. I contacted the herbal center Dr Itua, who lived in West Africa. A friend of mine here in Hamburg is also from Africa. She told me about African herbs but I was nervous. I am very afraid when it comes to Africa because I heard many terrible things about them because of my Christianity. god for direction, take a bold step and get in touch with him in the email and then move to WhatsApp, he asked me if I can come for treatment or I want a delivery, I told him I wanted to know him I buy ticket in 2 ways to Africa To meet Dr. Itua, I went there and I was speechless from the people I saw there. Patent, sick people. Itua is a god sent to the world, I told my pastor about what I am doing, Pastor Bill Scheer. We have a real battle beautifully with Spirit and Flesh. Adoration that same night. He prayed for me and asked me to lead. I spent 2 weeks and 2 days in Africa at Dr Itua Herbal Home. After the treatment, he asked me to meet his nurse for the HIV test when I did it. It was negative, I asked my friend to take me to another nearby hospital when I arrived, it was negative. I was overwhite with the result, but happy inside of me. We went with Dr. Itua, I thank him but I explain that I do not have enough to show him my appreciation, that he understands my situation, but I promise that he will testify about his good work. Thank God for my dear friend, Emma, I know I could be reading this now, I want to thank you. And many thanks to Dr. Itua Herbal Center. He gave me his calendar that I put on my wall in my house. Dr. Itua can also cure the following diseases, HIV, Herpes, Neuromuscular Diseases , Hepatitis B, Inflammatory Liver, Diabetes,Inflammatory bowel disease ,Fibromyalgia, recover your ex.
