  1. Dear Britta - I do remember that you share the same birthday as my eldest son which comes betwixt Christmas and New Year. His arrival took us by surprise as he was not due until the end of January.
Wishing you and your family a happy, peaceful, and hopefully better 2024.

    1. Dear Rosemary, thank you!
Your son was a bit impatient to see the world - and patience isn't my greatest virtue either (though I work on it :-)

  2. One of my sons was born on January 3. It seemed like forever after the holidays before he was born. After, it seemed to be right on top of them. Anyway I hope you had a wonderful birthday. I wish you a happy, healthy, and prosperous year.

    1. Dear Emma, thank you!
My birthday is on December 29 - so not - as your son's - on top of all festivities but in-between. As a child I was always lucky that my friends could come to my birthday - no school, and at that time no posh holidays on ski.

    1. Dear Tasker, thank you!
First photo: entrance to festive underground on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm. Second: astrologers claim I am a Capricorn - born on December 29 (I just try to learn to add the year of my birth - still trying :-) The third photo is on New Years Eve.
I wish you all the best for your health, Tasker!

    1. I run around a lot, Helen. And different from a good friend of mine I can stop after two pieces of chocolate while she eats a whole chocolate bar. But then again: I think it might just be genes.

    1. It was delicious! On the photo of New Years Eve you see the silverware for a menu in a French restaurant in Berlin that was definitely the best meal I ever had.

    2. It was a very special treat - normally I cook at home.

    1. Thank you, Pip! I try to arrange myself with my age - don't feel old, but by definition I am - and forget the number. I am proud that I am utterly "bio" - meaning no Botox, no OP, though discipline (e.g.not every day such a voluptuous meal :-) and good genes. (Not my merit).
I even started to tell my age, but found out that some people then behaved differently - and I didn't like that.
