Yes, I want to try something new. A Wednesday special. With tips I discovered (through reading or by friends) that really work. For me, that is. So I want to share them with you. And I am highly interested what you think of them - if you agree or not, if it helped you too - or if you have another tip for the same situation.
Here the first one (which I tried since half a year):
If you take a nap and wake after half an hour (the experts recommend not more than 30 minutes, so I set the alarm button on my cellphone) I sometimes came back to earth feeling a bit grumpy.
Then I read: Drink a small espresso before taking your nap. The caffeine needs about 30 minutes to get your body into motion. Hurrah - I feel as fresh as a daisy after that!
Since I don't like coffee that wouldn't work for me. But I do appreciate a good nap. I feel refreshed.
ReplyDeleteYes, a good nap helps a lot. I started drinking coffee (not much) when I was over fifty. But I do understand that it is not something everybody likes, long time I found it too bitter.
DeleteMy grandmother's response to any problem was chicken soup. Mine is an espresso, twice a day :)
ReplyDeleteDear Helen, chicken soup - made by oneself - is my response to feeling a cold coming - I like it, and read that it really helps.
DeleteQuiet time to relax is always good. I also like to meditate for 30-40 minutes. This refreshes me fully. After a meditation, I feel lighter with not a worry in the world.
ReplyDeleteDear Susan, I meditate too every day, sometimes twice, and am so glad that I do. It helps me to feel "centred", feeling one with the world, reassured. It puts many things in a perspective, though during meditation I do not think about my problems.
DeleteThat is something I did yesterday. It works.
ReplyDeleteThank you! First I couldn't believe it - but now I do it always.
