Britta's Letters from her life divided between city-life in German's capital Berlin and life in a Bavarian village

How to make yourself comfortable Staying at Home

"Keep calm - first a cup of tea!" is in Germany almost a synonym for British mentality  .
I am a worshipper of tea (if you put it mildly - I am addicted, you might say when you see me rushing into the kitchen first thing in the morning - not very zen-like    :-)

Now I am a bit worried about myself.

Under normal circumstances I use a stylish teapot (you see it at the back of the photo).
But suddenly I felt the urge to look for my cozy brown old teapot (and yes, Tom, I know how the English call it!).
So comforting! So soothing! So confidence-inspiring!
(Could only be trumped by a tea urn)

So my dear blog-friends: Let's drink a cuppa together!

And: Even black tea is healthy - so: stay healthy, please!

  1. I'll join you for a cup of green tea, Britta. The best tea but I can drink black tea too or any tea you care to offer. I also have to rush down for my breakfast cup of tea and then I come alive. No milk for me either.

    1. I'm glad you'll come, Rachel - of course I have green tea for you (once and again I give it a new chance, because it is so healthy and so delicate - but the only kind I can stand is with Jasmine). I can offer you many kinds - you just have to choose. And no milk: fine - so we do not have to discuss wether we put the milk in first or as the last drop. :-)

  2. You can’t beat a good old cup of tea .... in the U.K. it is the answer to everything Britta. .... and in your home too. Let’s hope we don’t run out !!! Look after yourself. XXXX

    1. True, Jackie - for me it is also the answer to everything. It calms. Gives you a pause to consider, and to feel life in one's bones again. And, as an optimist, I say: There will be enough, at least I hope.
      Take care too! XXX

  3. I'll have coffee, Britta, but the sentiment is the same.

    1. Of course there is coffee for you, Joanne - normal, Espresso, cappuccino -whatever (only the new whims of cold dripped coffee - that I will not have, sorry!)

  4. Oh, tea! Adore it. I'm rationing my good stuff as I did neglect to stock up on my favourite Assam from a specialty shop in the city so bought a box of nothing-special tea leaves from the supermarket when I went food shopping the other day. Desperate times, haha!!

    1. I hope it will be enough, Pipistrello - Assam is wonderful - but "nothing special" still is a thousand times better than none! And all help against desperation :-)
