Britta's Letters from (and sometimes about) Berlin

Monday, 9 September 2019

I am a GRANDMA now...

... and very, very happy!

Mother and children are healthy and full of "joei de vivre", zest for life.

And yes, my dear attentive reader: I really wrote   "children".

And not "only" two - oh no:  as son, (2.02m), does most things large-scale - we have:

                                                         triplets!!!
                                                  Three little girls.

I am happy and very grateful.

    1. That was the first I said when they told me: "Three?!" -
followed by "Drei ist Bremer Recht" - "Three is the due in Bremen" - the motto of my Hanseatic homecity.
And then: "All good things come in threes!" They do!

    2. "Dry Martini?" NEIN! Zwei!".

We are about to rejoin your Hanseatic community - if we are still allowed...

  3. Nobody told me how much joy was to be had in becoming a Grandma! I've only been blessed with one precious granddaughter. You will have your work cut out in helping to care for three. Human children need to learn so much - that is why Grandmothers are here to help!

    1. Dear Shawn, thank you! To give the proud parents some time for themselves is one thing I want by helping, but also to experience the excitingly open minds and souls of little children makes me happy.
Pictures I will post none - though I am of course bursting with pride about the little beauties. But I respected the privacy of my son&DiL, thus I will also respect their wish not to post photos.

  5. How wonderful. You will enjoy being a grandmother even more than being a mother. Congratulations to your son and his wife. They will have their hands full. This is also the birthday of one of my great-granddaughters.

  9. To all of you:
thanks for your wonderful comments! I apologize sincerely for answering so late, I am really sorry - but my excuse is that I was helping.
I fear that I will not blog very much the next time - but will read (in the train to Bavaria or back to Berlin) your lovely blogs.
