Mother and children are healthy and full of "joei de vivre", zest for life.
And yes, my dear attentive reader: I really wrote "children".
And not "only" two - oh no: as son, (2.02m), does most things large-scale - we have:
triplets!!!
Three little girls.
I am happy and very grateful.
(This stork sat one evening on top of a cathedral in Colmar - one stop of our holidays in hot July)
3?! Congratulations Britta.
ReplyDeleteThat was the first I said when they told me: "Three?!" -
Deletefollowed by "Drei ist Bremer Recht" - "Three is the due in Bremen" - the motto of my Hanseatic homecity.
And then: "All good things come in threes!" They do!
"Dry Martini?" NEIN! Zwei!".
DeleteWe are about to rejoin your Hanseatic community - if we are still allowed...
That is wonderful news Britta. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rachel. Yes - it was a big surprise!
DeleteNobody told me how much joy was to be had in becoming a Grandma! I've only been blessed with one precious granddaughter. You will have your work cut out in helping to care for three. Human children need to learn so much - that is why Grandmothers are here to help!
ReplyDeleteDear Margaret, thank you: I'm looking foreward to these new experiences you mention! Yes, I will help - and am glad that I have that chance, because I love children so much.
DeleteCongratulations, Britta! You will be much in demand. Can't wait to see the pictures!
ReplyDeleteDear Shawn, thank you! To give the proud parents some time for themselves is one thing I want by helping, but also to experience the excitingly open minds and souls of little children makes me happy.
DeletePictures I will post none - though I am of course bursting with pride about the little beauties. But I respected the privacy of my son&DiL, thus I will also respect their wish not to post photos.
How wonderful. You will enjoy being a grandmother even more than being a mother. Congratulations to your son and his wife. They will have their hands full. This is also the birthday of one of my great-granddaughters.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emma! I enjoy being a mother very much (though before I saw me as a "career woman :-) Yes, there will be a lot to do - but also a lot of fun. Wow - you already are a great-grandmother, congratulations!
DeleteWow, 3!! Congratulations to you all! So much fun and busyness ahead. What will you like to be called by the girls in time? Oma?
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful.Congratulations to the big family that you are now.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having THREE new granddaughters - how marvellous. You will all have such a lot of fun and great times together. Well done to your DiL and son.
ReplyDeleteTo all of you:
ReplyDeletethanks for your wonderful comments! I apologize sincerely for answering so late, I am really sorry - but my excuse is that I was helping.
I fear that I will not blog very much the next time - but will read (in the train to Bavaria or back to Berlin) your lovely blogs.
Best wishes, Britta
And all we have are boys. Six boys. Could we arrange a swap?
