Britta's Letters from her life divided between city-life in German's capital Berlin and life in a Bavarian village

Here we are - 2019!

The soft light of the Austern Bank in Berlin on New Years Eve: very becoming :-)
The motto was: "The Great Gatsby".
Later the firework at the Gendarmenmarkt was very impressive, noisy and beautiful, so 2019 was received in style.
I wish that this year brings luck to you, health, love, happiness and the fulfilment of some personal wishes.  Britta XXX

    1. Thank you, Emma - I love the fashion of that time. And the hectic atmosphere (though there were dark sides too - we have some fine German artists of that time who brand that)

  12. What fun, dear Britta! You look wonderful. I was always fascinated by the 20s. My parents married in 1927 and my mother's dress was the perfect flapper style... blue chiffon hand sewn with a wonderful design of bugle beads... that along with a fantastic little gold cloche hat were the dressup clothes of little girl's dreams! May you and yours be covered in blessings in 2019!

    1. Dear Susan, thank you! The dress of your mother sounds very beautiful - does it still exist?
I adore dresses that are hand sewn - they not only fit but also are made with attention - and then: chiffon and bugle beads - I see it before my eyes!
Elegant and free - wonderful! The fashion of the Twenties gave women freedom for the first time - freedom to move, and to be healthy (think of the heavy corsets before, that made women faint).
We are lucky to wear what we like now (though sometimes I would adore a little bit more elegance).
I wish you and yours a very happy time in 2019!
