The soft light of the Austern Bank in Berlin on New Years Eve: very becoming :-)
The motto was: "The Great Gatsby".
Later the firework at the Gendarmenmarkt was very impressive, noisy and beautiful, so 2019 was received in style.
I wish that this year brings luck to you, health, love, happiness and the fulfilment of some personal wishes. Britta XXX
You look adorable in your fur wrap! Happy New Year, let's hope it's one of joy and peace. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Shawn - and peace and joy the world needs, I agree! xx
DeleteThank you, and the same happy new year to you.
ReplyDeleteI think often of you, Joanne, and wish you all the best, especially for your health!
DeleteThank you Britta. And a Happy New Year to you. The dressing up Gatsby look looks much fun. xx
ReplyDeleteIt was, Rachel - it was a relaxed atmosphere (and I could do a bit handicraft for the headband :-) xx
DeleteHappy new year Britta.
ReplyDeleteTo you too, Yeal!
DeleteHappy New Year to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you and yours, Susan!
DeleteYou look lovely. The roaring 20's must have been your era.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Emma - I love the fashion of that time. And the hectic atmosphere (though there were dark sides too - we have some fine German artists of that time who brand that)
DeleteHow gorgeous you look Britta - the perfect outfit and look for a Great Gatsby 'gal' in the roaring 20's.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rosemary - especially for the 'gal' - after my umpteenth birthday two days before New Year I swallow that shamelessly)...
DeleteYou were made for the era. Happy New Year. X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom! I am happy as long as you do not write "made in the era...". X
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Brigitta! A stylish way, indeed, to bring in 2019. Oh, and we've just started watching Babylon Berlin, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pipistrello! I am very interested how you like Babylon Berlin - I have to start watching it yet.
DeleteA beautiful way to bring in the New Year .... we must all try harder to glam it up !!! Glamour and style will be the buzz words for 2019.
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy New Year to you and yours Britta .... wishing you a healthy one and many happy times. XXXX
Thank you, Jackie - to glam things up is a fine way to make something special of feasts. And for every-day life, style" is a fine option - with a splash of elegance, originality and cheerfulness. XXXX
DeleteBeautiful Brigitta, happiest New Year to you. You look radiant!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Geo., and the happiest New Year to you (as we have 365 days I can still wish that with aplomb). And yes: I feel fine!
DeleteWhat fun, dear Britta! You look wonderful. I was always fascinated by the 20s. My parents married in 1927 and my mother's dress was the perfect flapper style... blue chiffon hand sewn with a wonderful design of bugle beads... that along with a fantastic little gold cloche hat were the dressup clothes of little girl's dreams! May you and yours be covered in blessings in 2019!
ReplyDeleteDear Susan, thank you! The dress of your mother sounds very beautiful - does it still exist?
DeleteI adore dresses that are hand sewn - they not only fit but also are made with attention - and then: chiffon and bugle beads - I see it before my eyes!
Elegant and free - wonderful! The fashion of the Twenties gave women freedom for the first time - freedom to move, and to be healthy (think of the heavy corsets before, that made women faint).
We are lucky to wear what we like now (though sometimes I would adore a little bit more elegance).
I wish you and yours a very happy time in 2019!
