Britta's Letters from her life divided between city-life in German's capital Berlin and life in a Bavarian village

It Gets So Silent in "Our" Blogland...

I become apprehensive: did you notice how many wonderful bloggers in "our circle" fall silent these days?

I am talking of Joanne Noragon, Rosemary, Tom Stephenson, Mary - just to name a few. They explained while they don't write any more - chronic pain, private burdening, getting older.

Before that I lost others whom I also really, really loved as friends - someone as Geo. - by death, he who wrote so excellent and intelligent blogs.

Others just take time out because they have so many other things to do in real life - as Pipistrello, or Jackie, or Viola - though some carry on: well-educated Hels, lovely ASD, or courageous Yael who lives in such an incredibly changed world in Israel or brave Tasker Dunham

I miss you all! I wish you well! While walking I think of you - look into the beautiful Bavarian sky and send you, my friends, all my best wishes! Britta XXX

PS: Now you might understand why I needed something as my new blog "Strolling through the Bavarian countryside and village" (htpp.bavarianwalks.blogspot.com) not to become too desperate - sort of whistling in the dark...

  1. Since retiring, I have come to rely on both blogs and academic conferences to stay educated and alert. And that happened :)

I am not interested in cars, mechanics, physics, chemistry, trains, American football and basketball etc etc, but I love national history, travel, art, architecture, music, literature, performing arts, gardens and park, and religious histories. Many thanks to you and my other favourite bloggers.

  2. Hi dear Britta - something drew me to open my blog this morning and there I found you first so must leave a brief note as I think it most kind of you to post on missing some of us.
I miss staying in touch with so many dear blog friends but now find it so hard to sit still long enough to post. This past year has been so rough for us dealing with Bob's cancer. Our lives seem nothing but hospital, cancer center, doctors' offices and pharmacies - we are at several appointments a week. It's really draining for both of us and sadly we can't go far from home so any travel out of town doesn't happen.
Another surgery is coming in a couple of weeks, hopefully a successful outcome and will give us better news.
I will try to get back to posting, however, have to admit I find it easier to maintain my Instagram account which I can quickly access and post almost daily on my phone. Waiting rooms bring time to sit - one can just spend it thinking and worrying, or use to to post a few pix from the garden and feel a little more cheerful!
Glad you are well - enjoy your summer months - hope they are cooler than here where we struggle with unbelievably hot weather day after day recently!
Hugs always - Mary in North Carolina
