  1. I am stunned, the Queen retained the stamina to welcome her 60th (?) Prime Minister.

    3. Tom, my Blog always puts your comments under "spam", I only find them when I open "commentaries" - and some of them I can qualify as "no spam" - and others, though as pure as the other ones, I can do nothing about to publish them. Annoying.

  2. That's one of the many reasons why I adore her: she worked so hard and did her duty in a wonderful way.
Her death is a great loss for her country and for us.

  3. I think losing the Duke of Edinburgh last year was terrible for the Queen. After 73 years, her heart was broken. Children and grandchildren are wonderful, and her subjects needed her, but Philip was her reason for living.

    1. Dear Helen, I agree, and think that she was so lucky to have been able to spend so many years together.

  5. I really expected her to live as long as the Queen Mother did. I was 5 years old when she became queen so I did not know another monarch of UK.

    1. Now I know, dear Mimmylynn, why I was so surprised when she died - we were expecting her to grew as old as her mother! And yes: it will be a great caesura for the UK - though I am convinced that King Charles III. will be a worthy follower.
