Britta's Letters from her life divided between city-life in German's capital Berlin and life in a Bavarian village

"You just can't get decent help these days!"

...says Walter Matthau - and he is right!

Shouldn't you have told me??

I mean: it WAS a mistake when I wrote in my last post that I was reminded of Katherine Hepburn in "Cactus Flower".
Because it was Ingrid Bergman.
Well, well, well - now I know.

By the way: Look at this, please:

  1. Trying to smell that flower would be painful.

    1. But that will remain a very distant and stand-offish love, Emma.

  4. It just does something so important to have that little flower. It shows it is alive. It has responded to you!

    1. Well, Rachel - I told it that I like when someone makes an effort :-)

  5. At first glance I thought of Mrs. Tiggywinkle. Even the flower, which I mistook for her nose, did not immediately force me to see a plant. Did you coax this along?

    1. Oh Shawn, thank you that you reminded me of Beatrice Potter! I see the resemblance now instantly. Well - coaxing -- might be I have an undetected vocation as "plant-whisperer"?

  6. Lovely little flower, in such gentle contrast to the prickly thorns around her. It does remind me of Ingrid Bergman's gentle manner and kind face, qualities possessed by her daughter, Isabella Rossellini.

  7. Dear Geo., both, mother and daughter have kind faces, I agree! And in the movie above I was surprised that Ingrid Bergman could also be quite funny (same as I was surprised that Catherine Deneuve plays a really funny part in "Das Brandneue Testament", a movie from Belgie, utterly funny).
