I am vexed: I wrote a long-ish comment on Rachel‘s post „Soulmate“ - had to give in my password for my google-Account - said „publish“ - and all of it vanished in the sky.. Might be that this only happens on my I-pad, because I thought (but still have to check) that I have commented on Tom‘s blog. This is all so annoying and time- consuming!
I am sad that I didn't get your comment on my post Britta. But thank you for whatever it is you wanted to say to me. Blogger/Google do not like Apple and make things difficult I believe.
ReplyDeleteAs for Lisbon I may have been there before you, a little, the last week of August. It was publicised on my blog.x
I just changed my settings to allow all comments. I hope that may make a difference. Google want only comments from Google+ account holders and change settings when they update Blogger I believe.
DeleteMine keep disappearing too once I press publish, but I am in Italy and using an iPad. Hope this one arrives
ReplyDeleteDear Jenny, your comment popped up right now - I found it this moment and my excuses for not having answered before! Which you a good time in Italy - and I think it is an Apple-problem.
DeleteAll machinery seems to exist to give us problems. If it didn't make things easier too we would surely get rid of all of them.
ReplyDeleteThank you all - yes, Jenny, it is evidently a "speciality" of my i-pad (that is annoying because I bought it for drawing - and travel). I wrote another comment on my old computer, Rachel - and it worked. In Lissabon we might have met: we arrived 30.9. What I do not understand: I have a google+ account (I think). And yes, Emma: especially the Apple-machines do give me problems, and rob a lot of time - though they are nice to look at :-)
ReplyDeleteBritta... this happened to me so often that I began copying my comment before posting. That way if there was a problem, my very important... one of a kind comment could be reposted! Try, try again... sometimes it's not possible to recreate exactly those heartfelt thoughts! I have gotten away from blog reading on a regular basis. I spend way too much online time on Facebook and Instagram... but I do stop in to see what you are up to. Hope all is well with you and yours!
ReplyDeleteWow Susan - that is really astonishing: this morning I thought about you and about how you are! Glad to hear from you - and yes: the Internet munches away too much from our time! Though when I do write - which I love - I am always glad about the reactions. Yes, I am fine, though times were a bit tough for me the last 3 years - but you know me: I am "healthy, wealthy and optimistic" - that is a lot to be thankful for. And my son and daughter-in-love (!) are lovely. I hope you are well too? And I like to hear from you again! (Any chance you come to Berlin?)
DeleteBritta .. your good thoughts travelled half way around the world!! Doing fine here. I guess I let my blog die a natural death... not that much interesting to say. We keep busy and love spending time with our precious Baby Girl who is now 19 months old! Son and daughter in love see us a lot more often now! So glad to hear your dear ones are doing well. Am afraid the chances of world travel are slim to none. My dear husband is getting more sedentary by the day! He is, however, always ready for a 100 mile journey to visit his precious little one. She has her Bopa totally enamored! Will be better about blog reading and keeping up with your happenings... sending smiles... happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteDear Sue, thank you! For a long time I was also not sure about writing the blog, it takes so much time - and I travel so much, study Dutch at the university and still work as translator (when I choose). I am waiting for grandchildren - and love to read about your experienes! And honestly: that is much more interesting than just another travel. I do love children very much. Sorry that you can't come over - but enjoy your great happiness, Susan - and I am always delighted to read your comments! Happy weekend for you too!
