Balance

Only a few words, as I am occupied, having verbal exam on Monday - in Dutch...
Our seminar starts at 8:30 - yes: in the MORNING! - and over the term I witnessed the sun rising earlier and earlier. As I  ("I'll follow the sun" :-)
A few days ago something was different.
The wooden sculpture of a fox stands there.
Well-chosen for the aim of an university.
Wich reminded me of my old blog-titel - I frickled it into my header by now, to remind us all that we are both: "Witty and Pretty".

  1. Dear Brigitta, best of luck on this busy weekend and exam on Monday. You are witty, pretty and I have measureless confidence in you.

    1. "It's all double Dutch to me", dear Rachel!
      Hahaha.
And the ears of the fox are big, but here they seem bigger as in reality - the perspective of the camera exaggerated them.
Thank you for good-luck wishing. x

    1. Thank you, Gwil, for your long comment - written in excellent German! The quote from your German friend shows that everyone has a different taste: I think the Dutch language is very sexy - all those strong powerful guttural sounds and fricatives: I like them!
In the two years that I learned Italian, everbody said dreamily "Oh, how nice!" - with Dutch one earns commentaries as that of your friend, or they hint "how eay-peasy" it is to learn Dutch.
      Ja vonwegen!

  4. How funny. I have just made a fox in bronze, but the client originally wanted wood.

    1. Wow, I would have liked to see that, Tom! I like foxes, and can imagine that one in bronze looks good (why not copper?)

    2. Bronze is harder. You can oxidise it any colour you want.

    3. And copper might turn green in time... ?

  5. Knock it out of the park, as we used to say. Fifty or sixty years ago.

    1. Haha, Joanne - I will! I hope you mean the exam, not the poor fox? (Interesting: the Dutch say also "an examen 'slagen'" - meaning: knocking. )

  6. I like the fox. I know you will do well on your exam. You would have it no other way.
