"Again: a new blog!", you might think, and "How long will she do it this time?"
Well - I read a lot and sometimes want to share it with you. I am not very versed in making up a new website - I made a mistake and wrote "morselsofgermanliterature.blogspot.com" - though I will choose from every literature that pleases me. But I don't know how to change the once installed web address. Thus I started with a book I find really funny - and think that Raymond Briggs in that morsel is talking about the difficulties of "Digitalis".
Enjoy!
I saw on your blog today that you started a book blog and went over to see it but I don't see a Follow button. I will check out that author, I am a senior citizen and it might be a book I would like.
ReplyDeleteDear Terra, thank you for looking, and thank you for reminding me of the follower button. I had a few problems with the layout, and will try to fix my error (I hope I can - feel a bit like Raymond Briggs here).
DeleteI am a senior citizen too, thus I am always happy to find texts that are looking at that stage of age with humour without being condescending. I am happy that in the last years many good movies have been created with great actors and actresses - a chance and a role model!
Of course you will choose from every literature that pleases you. What pleasure would you get from literature that you do NOT like?
ReplyDeleteJust out of interest, I looked at my earlier posts to see if I get approximately equal numbers of a] readers and b] comments each time. The answer is no! Some topics clearly appeal to readers (eg 36 comments) while other topics are largely ignored (eg 8 comments).
Dear Helen, I made the fault to write "German" into the website address, then wanted to correct it but wasn't able. And then I had to add "original" to the current post, because I talked about translating (somewhere). And though I love the photo which I took in Leipzig, I didn't know how to minimise it...
DeleteAfter all these mistakes I chose the text of Raymond Briggs - first written in 2015.
The question of comments is interesting. When I wrote my garden blog "Gardening in High Heels" I often had so many comments - with "Witty and pretty" it is not just a feeling but sadly a fact: I know that quite a lot of wonderful bloggers have died or are not longer able to write. So sad!
Your blog is adorable, and I learn so much by it. With joy I read it much more often than I comment on it, sorry to say.
I even thought of disabling the comment function on my blog - but then: I am always so happy to read the comments which are often like letters from good friends! A real source of happiness!
I clicked on the link and it took me to a search page. I searched and none of them were you. Any chance I'm doing something wrong?
ReplyDeleteDear Mimmylynn, I am at a loss why you could not get to the new page. I put it here on my blog roll (is that the right term?) just under this post, at the right side, where all the other blog-headlines appear (in this case just over "Flying with hands") - and when I click on it I get it.
ReplyDeleteI will check it again, am happy that you tried, and hope you'll like it!
