Britta's Letters from her life divided between city-life in German's capital Berlin and life in a Bavarian village

Thank You All, My Blogger-Mates!

©Brigitta Huegel

I know that this year I was a bit unproductive in the blogger-world (I had a lot of other things on my plate, sorry).
But I want to thank you all for making my life richer: by reading your blogs, smile, getting ideas (thank you Elaine for the tip about the Christmas book - you see: I've got it!), lending an ear.
I hope that at least December will see more input of mine here.

  1. I do hope you enjoy the book Britta - I love his writing. I wondered where you had got to, life gets in the way sometimes, doesn't it. Hope you are keeping well, looking forward to seeing more of your posts in my inbox soon.

    1. I am utterly certain that I will enjoy it - thank you, Elaine!
As I'm "healthy, wealthy and in command" (as my dear friend Stephen Russell puts it), I am lucky to handle challenges. Lee's life hadn't been easy as a writer, says a Guardian critic - after one big success authors often have the problem of a successful second book.

    1. Thank you so much, dear Geo., I'm always really touched by your kind words. I'm glad that my energy level is high (and that I - till now and hopefully still a long time - have bouncebackabilities).

  4. I blog everyday except when I get enormously upset by somebody and I just cannot take anymore. I am so grateful to have blog friends like you Britta. You cannot know how much I mean that. I miss you when you don't comment. I enjoy your posts and your fun and your take on things that I would never ever see without youxxx

    1. Oh Rachel, I'm really moved (and - though not being a paragon of modesty, I really blushed - while enjoying it) Thank you! At least I can say to my excuse that I have more often read than commented - but will try to balance that.

    1. Oh Maria, thank you - I almost feel guilty! The last 20 months have been a bit trying - though I am still able to see the wonderful and exciting side too - and make the best of it. Con bacino! Britta xx

    1. Thank you, Emma! It may be the huge sum of the interesting blogs you all write - reading and commenting are really fun, but also time-consuming. But I learn so much by it - and the interesting thing is that one really starts to "know" (a bit) the blog friends, and cares about them.

  8. It is lovely to be one of your blogger mates Britta - you always give us such an interesting take on the things around you.
Laurie Lee came from my corner of the world - literally just up the valley from me - hope you enjoy the book.

    1. Thank you, Rosemary! As I followed quite a lot of your tips on my visits to England, (and some delicious recipes!), I always have a notebook on my desk when reading your blog.
Do you compare Laurie Lee's scenes with the pictures in your mind?

    2. Oh yes, I can see the valley, the lanes and the golden lined stonewalled fields in all of his writings.
