    1. Thank you, Jackie - the other photo was an attempt to conquer vanity - in vain -- :-)

    1. Thank you, Tom - I'm happy that you did not choose the "chubby cheek"-photo as "just as today"!

  7. The picture shows a happy family at Christmas. I love it. One of my favorite photos is us five children (the other two were not thought of yet) all dressed up and shining in front of our Christmas tree. Even though the picture is black and white I can see the colors.

    1. Thank you, Emma. It must be so lovely to have six siblings! And yes: I remember the colours of the dresses too.

    2. I so love being part of a large family. Although we welcomed others into the fold we needed no one else.

  8. A lovely jaw line. I used to have exactly the same dress.

    1. Thank you, Rachel. Though I see critically that I press my lips together - at that time I was still a bit shy (worked that out :-)

    2. As to the dress: maybe our mothers used the same sewing pattern?

    3. This one we bought. I remember the choosing of it still. However we did make dresses because my mother was a skilled dressmaker and passed much of it on to me. As a teenager all my dresses were made with the sewing machine on the kitchen table.
